  • In the Lombardy tour he flew off a bridge.

Despite the bad crash, the Belgian got off lightly: he “only” suffered a fractured pelvis and a bruise on the right lung. He now also confirms his relatively good condition in a video on Twitter.

“I just want to tell you that I’m doing very well for the moment,” says Evenepoel and thanks all his helpers. His season is now unfortunately over, but he is in no hurry: “We now have a lot of time to prepare a good comeback.”

In spite of everything, the young talent appears confident and closes his video message with the words: “The wolf pack never gives up.”
