Religious group injects animal medicine into more than 5 thousand as a palliative for COVID-19

The Peruvian Ministry of Health had already warned about the dangers of using ivermectin in patients with COVID-19, since they do not meet the same requirements for human drugs.

Likewise, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) warned, through a statement, that there is not enough scientific evidence to guarantee that this drug is effective or safe in people infected with the virus.

“The review concluded that the ivermectin studies were at high risk of bias, very little certainty of evidence, and that the existing evidence is insufficient to reach a conclusion about its benefits and harms,” ​​the organization said.

The Peruvian Ministry of Health reported this Monday, June 22, that the number of those infected by the new coronavirus in this South American country rose to 257,447, after registering 2,511 more positive diagnoses in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 8,223.
