The Cuban authorities published Official Gazette No. 13 of February 2024, which authorizes the commercial activity of 11 new foreign companies on the Island, which includes their registration in the National Registry of Foreign Commercial Representations.
According to the document, these companies are from several countries such as Spain, China, Italy, Belarus, Czech Republic, Panama and Granada, and cover several necessary sectors on the Island.
These sectors include food marketing, electronics, medical, construction and consulting services. This is a clear attempt to attract foreign investments in key areas for the country’s economic development. These permits were signed by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex), Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz.
The document specifies that all these authorized commercial representations cannot import or export directly on a commercial basis; carry out general wholesale and retail trade of products and services, with the exception of after-sales and warranty services.
The Gazette also makes it clear that they cannot issue commercial invoices or distribute and transport merchandise in the national territory.

- TRADE PACKAGING, S.A.from Spain, which focuses on the marketing of raw materials and machinery for various sectors, something that the Island desperately needs.
- TECOFIL INTERNATIONAL, S.R.L., originally from Italy:¿, which specializes in the manufacturing, design and installation of equipment for water purification and filtration. Likewise, it sells parts, pieces, tools and machinery.
- SPAN CORP, S.A.from Panama, which specializes in the sale of hydraulic equipment and accessories, electric motors, materials for fair and exhibition events.
- SOYEA JIURONG TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD.also originally from China, which is dedicated to the marketing of high definition encoder boxes and hybrid televisions.
- CLOSED CORPORATION MEAT AND DAIRY COMPANYfrom Belarus, which specializes in the marketing of dairy products, meat and derivatives, alcoholic and tobacco products, utensils and detergents, all things that are largely in short supply within Cuba.
