Reggio Calabria, 9 positive cases among doctors and nurses at the Riuniti: contact-tracking in progress, concern is growing in the city

Concern is growing over the spread of Coronavirus a Reggio Calabria. Tonight, the Corporate Management of the Great Metropolitan Hospital announced with an official note that in the afternoon of today, in the hours following the transmission of the daily bulletin to the Calabria Region and its subsequent publication through the official channels, 9 new positives were recorded at the CoViD- 19. Faced with this increase, which also involves health workers among others, it was decided to intensify the safety measures already adopted. Furthermore, steps are being taken to swab all the patients and all the staff, starting with the departments concerned. The new contingency requires the restriction of the presence of family members and carers of patients within the hospitals of the GOM and the activation of a single entrance in order to monitor more effectively, through the installation of a specific thermo scanner portal, people who must make use of health services as well as hospital staff. Until further notice, specialist outpatient activities and intramural activities are again suspended. The population is invited to use hospital services, in particular the Emergency Department, only in case of actual need in order to prevent the hospital from becoming a potential center for spreading the infection. Finally, in consideration of the delicacy of the role played in the fight against the pandemic, the Management invites all health professionals to behave and lifestyles appropriate to need.
