Redmi Note 10 5G: does fast network make it a better phone than the standard model? | Analysis / Review

O Redmi Note 10 5G is the latest launch of Xiaomi’s most popular line of intermediates to arrive in Brazil. It comes with the promise of bringing 5G to the general public, but without neglecting important technologies such as high connectivity, good hardware, battery that lasts a long time and a 90 Hz screen for greater fluidity. Is there a prank or does he really deliver it all? Let’s check it out.

The Redmi Note 5G has a design a little different from the others in the line, which helps to distinguish the device from the 4G variant. The body of the 5G model is also plastic as in the other version, in addition to the screen that comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. What changes is that this one does not have IP53 certification as in the Redmi Note 10, which makes it less resistant to splashes and dust.

And then you might already be thinking: where did Xiaomi make cuts? The first point sacrificed was the dashboard, at least the brightness. The Note 10 5G’s screen has a low maximum brightness for the category and is below the 4G variant. If the low brightness compromises the multimedia experience a bit, the lack of stereo sound is also a point outside of Xiaomi.

The Redmi Note 10 4G comes equipped with Snapdragon 678, while the 5G version brings MediaTek’s Dimensity 700. What is the best? In our speed test we saw an advantage in the 5G model which was faster in multitasking. He also did better in synthetic tests and in the case of AnTuTu he even gave a 20% difference in the score.

5,000 mAh battery may not be surprising in mid 2021, but what matters is how long the cell phone can handle and in the case of the Note 10 5G we had more than 25 hours of moderate use in our standardized test. Xiaomi claims the Note 10 5G supports 18W fast charging, but ships a more powerful charger with a maximum 22.5W output in the box. It takes almost 2 hours to fill the battery.

The Note 10 5G records good photos for the category. The camera gets the sharpness, colors, dynamic range right and has little noise in places with good lighting. Night shots are good for the category and maintain the good color balance and contrast seen when shooting by day. Macro is decent, but doesn’t have auto focus, while blur isn’t exciting.
