Redange. Former mayor Serge Carloni sentenced for moral harassment

Serge Carloni, mayor of the commune of Rédange from 2001 to 2020, was sentenced by the Thionville criminal court to a six-month suspended prison sentence, to pay damages to the civil parties and to five years of ineligibility for moral harassment on three of its employees. In 2012, between February and September and again between March 2013 and March 2014, the former city councilor exerted continuous pressure on municipal officials. Attempts at destabilization and exclusion are particularly criticized. Cascading sick leaves, a deleterious atmosphere and proceedings before the Strasbourg administrative court are the consequences of this “autocracy” described in a concordant manner by the complainants and corroborated by other municipal officials.

A “plot”, according to Serge Carloni

Serge Carloni, for his part, sticks to his initial version, considering himself the victim of a “conspiracy”, of a “plot” orchestrated by his former collaborators with the sole aim of harming him. He admits after all that he wanted to “restore order” in the affairs of the town hall. During the hearing which was held on January 19, the public prosecutor requested 8 months suspended prison sentence.
