Red Flags and Rain Interrupt Practice Session in Catalonia

The last practice session in Catalonia was affected by red flags after Sargeant’s trip to the bog and the subsequent rain. But at the end of the training, the riders returned to slicks again.

It was cloudy before practice and there was a very high chance of rain. So all the drivers took to the track immediately after the green light at the end of the pit lane. But they managed to drive only four to six rounds. After less than 9 minutes, the training session was interrupted by red flags. Logan Sargeant flew off the track and into the corner around the last corner. His williams also had a slight contact with the wall.

After that it started to rain. The rain was not heavy, but no one wanted to go to the track. It wasn’t until halfway through practice that Lando Norris drove one lap on intermediate tires. Moments later, the Ferrari drivers drove out. A quarter of an hour before the end, there was already a lot of activity. It continued to rain, but the track was not too wet.

A few minutes before the end, Norris was the first to put on the soft tires again. Moments later, others joined.

The order was determined at the beginning of the training. Verstappen set the fastest time ahead of Pérez and Hamilton.

Qualification starts at 16:00.
