A statement issued by the FIA states that Red Bull was on the track between 1:00 AM and 9:00 AM. It is plausible that Red Bull has worked all night on both RB16s, which certainly did not perform as desired on Friday.
By working through the night, however, Red Bull violated the rules regarding the time clock, but that has no consequences. An exception is made for each team twice per season, of which Red Bull has now used up the first.
The fact that Red Bull had large screens in front of the pit box early in the morning suggests that at least one bottom plate has been screwed from one or both cars. This type of screen is not permitted for all other activities.
