Red Bull Racing Faces Disappointing Results in Singapore Grand Prix

In Singapore, Red Bull Racing had the worst stage of the season – both team drivers did not reach the final qualifying, and in the race Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez finished fifth and eighth.

There was speculation in the paddock that this drop in results was due to the new technical directive TD018, which is aimed at tightening control over the flexibility of the wings, but Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner assures that this is not the case.

“I know everyone wants to blame the technical directive for the decline in results, but unfortunately we can’t do that because we haven’t changed a single component in the car,” Christian Horner said after the finish of the race in Singapore. – There were no changes at all.

Even before going to Singapore we knew that the fight would be tighter, but on Friday it was a surprise to us how far behind we were. I think the results are due to the fact that we were unable to get the car into the operating range, especially on one fast lap. And when the settings are not optimal, the tires feel terrible. Nothing worked.

I believe that due to the fact that the car could not be brought into the operating range, its weaknesses appeared. However, we learned a very useful lesson for the next season. “We’ve learned a lot and hopefully we can fix these issues in the next RB20.”
