After two goals that have hit the spirit of the team and the fans, Ariel Holan submitted his resignation to the Club León board headed by Jesús Martínez Murguía, however this was rejected.
León, in addition to the fact that he does not end up finding his best soccer form, has suffered 3-0 wins against Seattle Sounders and Tigres, respectively and already at the weekend, the fans cried out for Holan’s dismissal.
According to sources close to the institution, Holan would have submitted his resignation hours after Saturday’s game, but this was not accepted and, on the contrary, they will close ranks to try to get the team to react football-wise and begin to obtain results in the coming days.
For now, La Fiera’s priority is to seek the historic comeback on Thursday, March 17 against the Seattle Sounders and return to winning ways next Sunday, March 20, when they visit Mazatlán FC.
At the moment, Holan has the team in sixth place in Liga MX with 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses to add 15 points, while in the Concachampions they eliminated CD Guastatoya from Guatemala in the round of 16, but they are on the verge of failure against the Seattle Sounders, who are winning 3-0 on aggregate in the quarters.
For now, the team will return to work this Monday thinking about the revenge against the Sounders, still with the Argentine Holan at the head of the coaching staff.
The truth is that León has a complicated outlook, as Osvy Rodríguez and Omar Fernández are still injured and Luis `Chapo´ Montes joined them over the weekend, all due to muscle fatigue.
Thus, it is up to the rest of the squad to stand up for the institution in the coming days and start getting results, because otherwise, the Argentine helmsman will continue to hang by a thread.
