Realme has presented MagDart, which is the company’s equivalent of Apple MagSafe, ie Qi charging with magnetic mount. MagDart consists of a number of products.
What comes closest to MagSafe is a Qi charger with a magnetic mount that charges over 15W. According to Realme, it is 26.4 percent thinner than Apple’s equivalent and it is also claimed to offer significantly faster charging, as it should be able to charge a 4500mAh battery in 90 minutes.
A clumsier but even faster alternative instead charges over 50W. The charger is similar to a Mac Mini and has a built-in fan. When connected to Realme’s 65W charger, the wireless charger should be able to charge a 4500mAh battery wirelessly from empty to full level in 54 minutes.
Realme has also introduced a wireless powerbank that can be attached to the back cover and charge without a cable, as well as a cover for the Realme GT phone that provides support for MagDart. Another accessory is the MagDart Wallet with space for three cards. It has built-in support that the phone can be tilted against.
The latest product is the unusual MagDart Beauty Light which is attached to the back cover and allows a lamp to be folded up forwards, for improved self-portraits. The accessory is powered by reverse wireless charging. Realme has not said what the MagDart products cost or when they will be released, or which devices they will be compatible with.
At present, they only work with Realme GT – in case the shell is purchased.
