Apparently the supermarket giant Rewe is planning to take over 18 Real stores in a very good location. This emerges from plans that were discussed in the Group’s supervisory board, reports the “Lebensmittel Zeitung” in its print edition. The company did not want to comment on request. It is possible that Rewe is still in negotiations with the real estate investor SCP.
According to the plans, Rewe does not want to buy the branches, but rather move in as tenants. The group does not have to take over the affected employees of the Real branches, as the industry paper writes.
