Tierney tries to stop Julián Álvarez in the Community Shield

Various English media warn that Real and Arsenal are advancing in negotiations for the transfer with the option to buy Kieran Tierney. ‘The Sun’ labeled Real as a “favourite” to take the expert Scottish left-back (124 appearances with Arsenal and 38 with the national team) despite direct competition from Glasgow Celtic. The Scottish club, however, has not contacted Arsenal and also could not afford “a six-figure weekly salary or a seven-figure purchase option,” according to the same newspaper. Other media such as ‘Sky Sports’ and ‘The Athletic’ give an account of the ongoing conversations between Real and Arsenal de Mikel Arteta for the left winger. The player has been left out of the last calls, he trains outside the group in London -according to English media reports- and only played and as a substitute in the Community Shield match against City.
