Real estate Saint-Germain-en-Laye (78): ATELIER ACONCEPT delivers 150 housing units for single executives

In the heart of the national forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, is the headquarters of the lodges within which this project of 150 housing units for single army executives is being established. With a simple and sober architecture, the frame was designed with the prefabrication of facade modules on 3 levels in wood frame wall.

In order to have the least possible impact on the land, ACONCEPT WORKSHOP favored a location in the south of the plot. The rampart walk has been reworked on the outskirts of the building, thus allowing a better location, while safeguarding the existing trees and reinforcing the site’s landscaping framework.

A landscape approach …

The surroundings have been treated like a garden and the 50 new parking spaces (5% of which are adapted for PRMs) are designed with a concern for landscape continuity, half of which are vegetated. 2-wheel shelters are shades on light structures that fit into this vegetable pocket.

In addition, a valley is set back from the new service road, protecting the accommodation located on the ground floor and also constituting an alternative solution to hydrocarbon separators. To the east, a quieter courtyard emerges where a sports course is installed as well as outdoor furniture.

The landscaped approach is reflected in the fifth facade by the green roof. Seen from above, it reinforces the sense of belonging and integration of the project in the forest. Seen from the street, the vegetation hides the technical equipment installed on the roof. Particular care has been taken in terms of both the quality of the common spaces and the private spaces, designed as “cocooning” rooms so that the occupant really feels at home.

A simple and sober architecture

Thus, the architecture is simple and sober, integrating as well as possible into its environment, in particular by the choice of light colors on the facade. This is punctuated by an alternation of full and empty, thanks to the systematic integration of glazed faults.

These facades are treated as broken lines, on which a very slight play of shadow is revealed, which only natural sunlight will be able to draw. Finally, the building is made of prefabricated wood-frame walls, arriving in full-height facade modules and installed on site, a plus for the site and its saving of time.
