Reach 7 Percent Target, DPR People Praise Jokowi’s Economic Team

Deputy Chairperson of the DPR’s Budget Agency (Banggar), Muhidin M Said, appreciated the performance of the economic team of President Jokowi and the Vice President, Maruf Amin, who succeeded in bringing Indonesia out of economic recession amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The economy managed to grow 7.07 percent in accordance with the target set by the Government in the second quarter, so that Indonesia began to emerge from the economic recession phase that had lasted for four consecutive quarters, where the Indonesian economy experienced contraction or negative growth due to the pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic. 19,” said Muhidin in Jakarta.

This senior politician from the Golkar Party said that economic growth in the second quarter was in line with the target set by President Jokowi and the economic team led by Airlangga Hartarto.

“The restoration of public confidence in the national economy cannot be separated from the incessant national vaccination program and the 2021 National Economic Recovery (PEN) program which have been carried out in recent times. We need to maintain this momentum because the national economic condition is already on the right path of recovery,” said the former lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Tadulako University.

Muhidin further explained that the achievement of economic targets in the second quarter could not be separated from the resilience of the MSME sector which was able to survive as a driving force for the economy.

This can be seen from the realization of the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) which in the first semester has reached Rp. 143.14 trillion, or 56.58 percent of the target of Rp. 253 trillion.
