This Saturday evening was played a large part of the 34th day of Ligue 2. A day which concerned the players loaned by the RC Lens away, as the battle continues to rage over which teams will join the Racing in Ligue 1 next season.
Lent by the RC Lens sans option, Ibrahima Balde was missing from Annecy’s scoresheet in a 1-1 draw at home to Dijon. Tom Ducrocq, who will remain in Bastia at the end of the season, was suspended during the 2-1 defeat of his team at Laval. At the top of the standings, pending the result of the Le Havre leader at home against Rodez on Monday, Bordeaux and Metz continue to fight for the 2nd and last place giving access to Ligue 1. Bordeaux won 1-0 at home against Caen while Laszlo Bölöni’s Metz won 3-1 in Niort. In the standings, Le Havre is in the lead (68 points, one game behind) ahead of Bordeaux (65, +22). Metz is 3rd (62, +25). The race seems to end there, however, for the Bastia of Tom Ducrocq, 4th and behind (53). Annecy is 16th and first non-relegation (38), ahead of Laval (37), Dijon (35), Nîmes (33) and Niort (27).
