Razer announces Pro version of RGB face mask with voice amplification – Sound and Vision – News

Razer will show a Pro version of its Zephyr face mask during CES. This version again has RGB LEDs and N95 filters, but also gets voice amplification. Razer lists a suggested retail price of $150, which is $50 more than the regular Zephyr.

Razer reported that the Zephyr Pro distinguishes itself from the regular Zephyr with voice amplification. There are two speaker terminals on the underside of the mouth cap.grilles to find. The Zephyr Pro also has a button with which voice amplification can be switched on and off. Razer reports to The Verge that it amplifies a user’s voice up to 60dB at a distance of one meter.

Outside of that, the Pro variant is broadly the same as the regular Zephyr. The mouth cap will again receive two N95 filters that last up to three days and must be able to filter 95 percent of the particles from the air. The Zephyr Pro also gets active ventilation and an automatic sterilization function via UV light. The weight of the Pro version is also the same, as is the battery capacity. Razer told The Verge that the company has lightened the grilles for the speakers to achieve this.

The Zephyr Pro will be available alongside the current Zephyr. That mask was shown during CES in 2021 and was then known as a Project Hazel concept product. In August, the company started beta testing for its first mask and it came out in the fourth quarter officially available for $100. In Europe, the Zephyr is for sale for 110 euros; a euro price for the Pro version is not yet known.
