On Friday night, it has been confirmed that the city council leader in Oslo has been infected by the new virus mutation.
–
This is what City Council Secretary Kaia Storvik (Labor Party) informs NTB.
– All close contacts are informed and are encouraged to follow the current infection control rules for omicrons, which are different and stricter than in normal outbreaks, says Storvik.
She states that the shape of the city council leader is ok.
– The city council leader has been in isolation since he tested positive on Wednesday night. He acts as city council leader from isolation, she says.
Storvik says that she does not have the total overview of how many have ended up in quarantine due to the city council leader, but says that he has not had very many close contacts.
She states that “someone” in the city council apparatus has ended up in quarantine after the case of infection.
– We follow the situation closely in collaboration with the district superintendent.
The city council leader in Oslo first tested positive for a quick test after getting cold symptoms on Wednesday night. It was written by Raymond Johansen his own Facebook-side.
– Wednesday night I got cold symptoms and took a quick test that was positive. The PCR test afterwards was also positive, he wrote.
Furthermore, he wrote that the municipality on Thursday alerted journalists who was present at the press conference on Tuesday 7 December that they should test themselves.
– One of my employees is also infected, but beyond that, everyone else has taken negative tests. They have still been quarantined since Tuesday night. Others I have met have also been notified, Johansen writes.
It is currently unknown how the city council leader was infected, Storvik told VG on Friday night.
– There is a major omicron outbreak in St. Hanshaugen district, where he lives, but we do not know where he got it from, she says.
