City councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party) in Oslo reaches out to the Conservative Party’s pressure for action and calls the party’s statements “extremely irresponsible”.
Both in the political quarters at NRK and in an interview with VG, the head of the health and care committee, Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen, fired at the government’s pandemic management.
Among other things, she has listed corona deaths, called the political leadership in the country “absent and passive” and claimed that many miss former Minister of Health Bent Høie.
In addition, the Conservative Party’s group leader in Oslo, Anne Haabeth Rygg, has stepped out and called for action from the city council. Opposite VG the city council leader responds forcefully to the criticism.
– The statements are startlingly irresponsible. Extremely irresponsible. Now she must think about and not contribute to panic, Johansen tells the newspaper.
He emphasizes that measures must be proportionate, and believes that the Conservative Party helps to drive unnecessary measures in the capital.
– We have, which is very understandable, a slightly frightened population, after experiencing a lot in the last 21 months. I can not shut down a city with 700,000 inhabitants just “for safety’s sake”, says Johansen.
