With the start of the summer and after the abundant spring rains the grass has grown very lush in the civic city cemetery which has invaded a good part of the area where the mortal remains of many people from Cava rest. Due to this phenomenon which developed in just a few days, even the tombs were almost invaded by weeds and the citizens’ protests were not long in coming. The cemetery, they denounce, is in an unseemly state, lTall grass also covers the tombstonesand, they are often found in avenues too piles of garbage abandoned where it is easy to see also of rats. A general picture that also caused opposition forces in local politics to rise up and invite those in charge to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
The situation, it seems, should have a positive outcome soon. To reassure political forces and citizens Nuncio Senator deputy mayor with responsibility for public works. «In recent days I have answered the phone calls of some citizens as I do every day – has explained – and I reassured them regarding the work we will do at the civic cemetery. Thanks to the installation of the company that won the tender, many things will improve: votive lights, decoration and some complementary structures. A better welcome will also be ensured for visitors and greater dignity will be given to our dearly departed».
