Rapper and actor Lexxxus has been able to transform its image thanks to social media. By being active on Instagram every day, he was able to show his followers his true nature, he says in conversation with Monday De Volkskrant.
“Ten years ago I was a big bad Negro,” said the rapper and actor about the low flattering word for people with dark skin. “People said: what are you tall, are you always so angry?”
“Now I have become a teddy bear. Because I was able to show on social media what I really am.”
Lexxxus also started business via Instagram
Promotion via his Instagram channel was also the source for the Lexxxus company. The rapper sold earplugs that resemble Apple AirPods. “It went really well,” says 34-year-old Lionel Dors, as the rapper is called in real life.
“We had only underestimated that it would be such a huge success. Some customers had to wait five months after they had already paid. I understand that they felt scammed. But I am not a scammer, I am far too famous for that, why would I do that? “
