The injury devil hit the Bundesliga team Rapid right at the start of the championship group. As known since Thursday, Christopher Dibon (cruciate ligament rupture) suffered the premature end of the season in the 0-2 defeat in Salzburg on Wednesday. Something similar also threatens Thomas Murg and Mario Sonnleitner, who are at least absent for the Sunday home game against Sturm Graz.
Murg was knocked out of the knee shortly after his substitution (72nd). Sonnleitner came on for Dibon (7th) and suffered a thigh muscle injury 20 minutes later. Trainer Dietmar Kühbauer said on Friday regarding a longer-term prognosis, wants to wait for more detailed investigations. “It’s very, very tough, considering the program we still have ahead of us,” said the 49-year-old.
