Ranking Results for Capital Nurseries and Gardens: Over 23,000 Children Participate in the First Round

The first ranking of children for the capital nurseries and gardens was held. This year, 23,506 children took part in the ranking.

Of these, 10,954 were ranked and 9,879 remained unaccepted. There are 2714 available places for the next ranking.

7,987 places were announced for admission to kindergarten groups (children aged 3 to 6). The applicant children are 11,060, of which 2,327 are currently attending kindergarten, but wish to be transferred. After the classification, 2024 free places remain for children from 3 to 6 years old.

There are 12,445 applicants for nurseries, 346 for relocation.

Currently, 196 gardens are operating in Sofia. 21 gardens are under construction, 15 buildings with 2,000 seats will be completed by the end of the year.

The regions “Krasno Selo”, “Vitosha”, “Triaditsa”, “Ovcha Kupel” and “Lozenets” remain the busiest, with an expected shortage of places.

Parents must enroll their children on the spot in the respective childcare facility/school /for the preparatory groups/ by 4 pm on May 26, 2023.

The second ranking will take place on May 26, 2023. Until 17:00 on May 26, parents can make applications.

The third ranking will take place on June 9, 2023.

Compensation is BGN 413 and is granted to children over 3 years of age who are not admitted to a state kindergarten, are enrolled in a private institution and have not received another equivalent place from their municipality.
