And the names of the players shouldn’t have said something to every Bundesliga fan either. It was therefore not surprising that the team around coach Pellegrino Matarazzo was far behind in the market value table at the beginning of the season.
VfB shines in the ranking
The situation has changed fundamentally in many respects. VfB not only inspires its own fans and is ninth after 28 match days, only five points behind a Europa League place. Players like Sasa Kalajdzic, Silas Wamangituka or Orel Mangala have increased their market value enormously and are now certainly well known to fans outside of the German elite league.
