Raivis Kakānis has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Industra Bank

Raivis Kakānis has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Industra Bank (formerly Meridian Trade Bank), informed the bank.

It is planned that Kakānis will start working in the new position in April after receiving approval from the Financial and Capital Market Commission.

Industra’s goal is to become the first choice bank for lending to small and medium-sized Latvian entrepreneurs. About a bank that does everything quickly, simply and understandably, ”said the new head of the bank, Kakānis.

Prior to joining Industra’s management team, Kakānis was the head of the Latvian branch of Danske Bank for more than 12 years. Prior to that, he worked as the Chairman of the Board of Sampo Banka in Latvia, but at the beginning of his career he gained valuable experience in various positions in the Latvian branch of Latvijas Krājbanka and Nordea Bank.

Kakan holds a PhD in Economics and a range of professional training courses leading to industry-relevant certifications such as the ACI Diploma in Financial Market Management and the ICA Anti-Money Laundering Certificate.

Solvita Deglava, who has been working as the Chairman of the Board of the Bank since the beginning of 2019, took up her position on April 4. According to Deglava herself, she will continue to use her accumulated professional experience and knowledge in managing business change, development and financial processes.

As before, the members of the Board of Industra will be continued by its members Jekaterina Meinharde and Ruta Amtmane, representing the areas of business development, customer management, legal issues and AML.

Joint Stock Company Industra Bank (formerly Meridian Trade Bank) is a Latvian credit institution founded in 1994 with 13 settlement centers in Latvia and three in Lithuania. The bank has more than 30 thousand customers and according to this indicator, Industra is the sixth largest bank in Latvia.
