Rainy season, DHF cases go up

GIANYAR, Nusa Bali
Ni Nyoman Ariyuni, interim Gianyar district health office, said that during the rainy season there was a spike in dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases.

The number of dengue cases in Gianyar as of August was 368 cases. Mosquito larvae in puddles of water are the trigger. Ariyuni invites the public to be more vigilant and to keep the environment clean. Most cases of DHF are found in the Gianyar district.

The increase in dengue cases has occurred since April up to 65 cases. A drastic increase compared to March with 37 cases. There were 63 cases in May, 62 cases in June, 51 cases in July and 47 cases in August. “Most of the dengue cases are in the Gianyar district,” Ariyuni said Thursday (6/10). The Gianyar Health Office has carried out health promotion activities. The public is advised to perform mosquito nest eradication (PSN). By breaking the chain of transmission of dengue fever, health care workers carry out PE (epidemiological investigations), if the potential exists, agents carry out fogging. * nvi
