– My father told me about his experiences with the Olympic Games. Tokyo? This is a dream and one of my goals – she said last year Iga Świątek. Back then, she did not expect that 2020, thanks to the victory in Roland Garros, she would be on the lips of the entire tennis world, and that she would not go to the IO just for the trip, but for fighting for the highest goals.

Radwańska asked about playing together with Świątki. “There would have to be a chance for a medal”

witek recently she has shown that she can compete for a medal at next year’s Olympics. And not only in singles competitions. The Polish woman in doubles also looks great, which she proved by reaching the semi-finals during Roland Garrosa. For now, however, it is not known who the young player could create a pair with. Therefore, the journalists of the portal sport.onet.pl asked Agnieszka Radwańska about the possibility of a joint doubles performance at the Olympics in 2021. – Some frozen rankings after the birth of a child would still be found – said one of the best, if not the best Polish tennis player in history, who ended her career in 2018.

– But a wild card – it’s obvious – you would surely get it. And what do you say? the journalist asked. – Hmm … (long pause) – Radwańska wondered, then replied. – First of all – Iga has a potential experienced doubles partner in the person of Magda Linette. Second – from what I hear, it is closer to games mixed with Łukasz Kubot. Third – there is absolutely no plan in my head to come back. No way, she honestly admitted Agnieszka Radwanska.

And she added: “I have been to the Olympics three times and three times, for various reasons, I did not succeed. Going again is not a satisfaction for me. A medal would be a satisfaction. If I had to consider such an idea at all, I would have to assess whether there is chance”.

– Would there be a chance for a medal? It might be, but in the best years of my career. Certainly not now. Although I think that with Iga on the court we could complement each other well. Each could have a role to play. Her playing strength plus my smarts … I wish I was ten years younger. Ha, ha, ha – admitted the 31-year-old smiling.

Radwańska has played at the Olympic Games three times in her career – in 2008 in Beijing, in 2012 in London, and also at the last Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
