Radio 538 newsreader Jo van Egmond and Qmusic DJ Martijn Biemans became parents of a daughter on Wednesday 9 September. They named the child Jula Dirkje.
Van Egmond made the birth known in the Coen and Sander Show on Radio 538. It is the first child for the two.
According to the 32-year-old newsreader, the delivery went well. Her partner Martijn Biemans, who works as a DJ at Qmusic and previously also worked at Radio 538, writes on Instagram proud of his girlfriend.
Van Egmond has been working as a regular newsreader on Radio 538 since 2017. She was replaced during her pregnancy by SBS presenter Airen Mylene.
