Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX close to selling out in China

Recently, the US introduced new export restrictions on GPUs that can be used for AI and Nvidia was forced to stop bringing the Geforce RTX 4090 into China. Now Chinese consumers who want to buy graphics cards for their intended use – playing games with cool graphics – have to look around for alternatives.

According to reports from China (via Videocardz) has led to a sudden surge in AMD’s top-of-the-line Radeon RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX models, and AMD has now found it difficult to supply enough Navi 31 chips to Chinese graphics card manufacturers. So far, it hasn’t started to affect in-store availability for consumers, but if the pressure on AMD continues, the shelves may begin to be empty.

The original source, Wechat account Channelgatewrites that AMD had not anticipated the higher demand and may have trouble supplying enough 7900 cards until at least January or even a little longer.

So far, the prices of consumer cards have not gone up, writes Videocardz, and there are currently no indications that the shortage of Navi 31 circuits will extend to more countries.
