Racoon had no idea what impact new song would have NOW

Singer Bart van der Weide and guitarist Dennis Huige from Racoon had no idea what impact their latest song was It Is Late Anyway would have on the audience. Last weekend they received a gold record via a drone in the backyard.

“Of course we receive updates from our management, but the success of the song has the most impact for ourselves when we are on stage,” Van der Weide tells NU.nl. “That is self-believer and I don’t have this feeling now.”

He thought the record was delivered with a drone to the backyard in Goes. “A gold record is always fun. I have never seen a drone before so it was impressive.”

Van der Weide finds it difficult to work on his music at home alone. “I write dull, because I have all the time in the world. But there is also a lot of bullshit, which I will never listen to again. I prefer to be out and work with the men, we need each other.”

After the number It’s getting late would release a Dutch-language album by the band in the fall. According to Van der Weide, this was the planning, but there is no certainty yet. “We can’t go to the studio, so it will be more difficult.”
