Quite straight | PHOTO HITS News

The Chinese manufacturer Venus Optics is introducing a new ultra-wide angle lens. Despite the large picture angle of 135 degrees, the Laowa 9mm f / 5.6 FF RL does not have the curved distortion of straight lines typical of fisheye lenses with similar focal lengths. It is therefore not only suitable for landscape and architectural shots, but also for photos of interiors.

The Laowa 9mm f / 5.6 FF RL is designed for use on mirrorless full-frame cameras. The user sets the focus and aperture manually. The lens weighs only 350 grams with a length of about 60 millimeters. It is sold in Germany by BIG GmbH and will be available from mid July 2020 for Sony FE, Nikon Z and for the L-bayonet for 979 euros. The variant for the Leica M connection costs 1,099 euros.
