For the first time, Quentin Tarantino spoke in his own words about his last film. However, the legendary director rejected a previously circulating rumor.
Cult director Quentin Tarantino has revealed details of his latest work for the first time. The filmmaker behind legendary cinema hits like “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” from 2019 or “Django Unchained” (2012) said on Wednesday evening in Paris: “I have the script for what will be my last film will be terminated.” This is reported by “France 24”. “I think we’ll probably start filming in the fall,” added the 60-year-old.
The legendary director also confirmed the title of the film, which had previously been reported by US trade journals. “The Movie Critic” will take place in 1977, and thus at the height of so-called New Hollywood cinema, when filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas staged cinema hits that are still valued today.
Contrary to previous reports, however, “The Movie Critic” will not focus on the famous film critic Pauline Kael, as Tarantino explained in Paris. Rather, according to his own repeated statement, his last film was not dedicated to a specific film critic.
