After a church service in honor of the British Prince Philip, who died on Friday (he was 99 years old) Prince Andrew revealed that the 94-year-old head of state, his mother, had told her husband’s death left “a great void” in her mind. The two were married for 73 years. According to Sky News Prince Andrew told reporters that the Queen remains “incredibly stoic” after his death.
The couple’s second son told other reporters that the Queen called her husband’s death a miracle. Presumably that statement referred to the fact that Prince Philip died peacefully and calmly at home, close to her, and not just in a hospital with strict corona rules. Earlier this year, Prince Philip was hospitalized for another month for an infection and heart intervention.
Prince Andrew (who has been discredited in the sex scandal surrounding his friend Jeffrey Epstein) said his father was a remarkable man. His death is ‘a great loss’. “It’s as if the nation’s grandfather is no longer with us.”
About his mother, the 61-year-old prince also said: “We, her family and everyone close to her, gather around her and ensure that we are there for her, that there is a lot of support.”
Comeback Harry
Prince Philip will be buried next Saturday. Meanwhile, the whole country is looking forward to Prince Harry’s return. It will be the first time since his and wife Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey that he sees his royal family again.
