Last week, 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth was admitted to hospital overnight for an examination. She had to cancel a two-day visit to Northern Ireland at the last minute.
“Following previous advice to rest for a few days, her doctors are now advising that she rest for at least another two weeks,” the palace said in a statement. The head of state hopes to be able to attend the ceremony on Remembrance Sunday on November 14, the British Remembrance Day.
Already fewer performances
The British queen has been making fewer public appearances lately, especially after her husband Philip died in April at the age of 99. For example, government leaders at the climate summit in Glasgow this weekend will be received by Crown Prince Charles.
