Qualcomm has introduced what they call “a new era” for Snapdragon, which will be a standalone product brand. The “Qualcomm” and “Snapdragon” brands have been separated.
Logos and other graphics have been redesigned at the same time. Qualcomm will use a “simplified and consistent” naming structure for future products, something that has been rumored before. The idea is to make it easier for customers to find and select devices powered by Snapdragon.
The chip will have a single digit. The flagship series “8” begins the new naming. The company also writes that since all their system circuits now offer 5G, “5G” will no longer be used in product names as it is considered redundant.
