Qatar 92 Foundation’s Massive Offer Rejected, Manchester United Acquisition Fails

Romano said: Qatar 92 Foundation Sheikh Jassim has once again negotiated with the Glasha family to acquire 100% of the football club Manchester United.

Romano further revealed this sincere offer: “all cash”, including clearing all old debts, zero new debts, and acquiring 100% of the shares of Manchester United.

According to previous reports from Sky Sports, Jassim’s offer was 5 billion pounds. Romano said that Manchester United’s market value was approximately US$3.5 billion. The final offer was approximately double this estimate! And Jassim also plans to invest an additional US$1.5 billion (approximately 1.235 billion pounds) after the acquisition.

Unfortunately, Sheikh Jassim’s acquisition proposal was once again “rejected” by the Grasha family. Therefore, Jasim informed the other party that he would “withdraw from the bidding.” However, it declined to comment due to confidentiality restrictions, but confirmed that it had given up the acquisition.

The BBC’s Simon Stone has also stated that the Qatar 92 Foundation’s plan to acquire Manchester United “has officially failed.”

Perhaps the intention of the Gracha family: Another bidder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos, only seeks to obtain 25% of the shares, so that the Gracha family can still control Manchester United.
