PVEM works to go only in 2024; but they are allies of AMLO and Sheinbaum

The Secretary General of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) in Mexico City, Jesús Sesma, points out that they are building a political project to go alone in the 2024 electionbecause with Morena they do not have an electoral alliance, but a legislative one.

However, in an interview with THE UNIVERSAL, He assures that if they do not have a solid candidate, they could go in alliance, but only for the head of government because they have good profiles for mayors and councils.

“I cannot tell you in what circumstances we are going to find ourselves in a year to see candidates, but we are going to build to go alone. If we do not build a candidate for leadership that we believe will do something good for the City, well, we are also not closed to seeing the candidates that exist to see if an alliance can be made or not, but it is not the logic,” he says.

For example, he says, when one gets married it is with the aim of living a lifetime with a partner, but divorce is never ruled out, “we are going to build to go it alone, but we cannot rule out outright that not (going in alliance ), but it would only be for a leadership, because for mayors and councils we have some great possible candidates”.

In this sense, he ventures to say that with his possible applicants they could surprise and even win up to three mayoralties, “because sometimes it is thought that you need to be with the big man to win and it is not necessarily so.”

In the same way, he assures that his registration is not at risk if they decide, as up to now, to go alone for next year’s elections “and even in one of those I launched myself, I do not rule out (for the head of government) if I see very badly for the candidates of the others, because I don’t want to leave the City in their hands”.

He stresses that they are training and giving legislative courses to their cadres so that, if they win, they do not have to have a learning curve.

Jesus Sesma He accepts that the cascade vote, that is, voting for a single party for all popular election positions, affects medium-sized parties like them, for which reason he asks the citizens of the capital to be more responsible for their vote and see the candidates “because there are disastrous mayors and mayors”.

It makes it clear that the candidates who are excluded from the other parties have the doors open to the PVEM, as they already did with the mayor of Cuajimalpa, Adrián Rubalcava, although the only condition is that they have love for the planet and that they are passionate about issues of sustainability and animal welfare.

He clarifies that although his project is to go alone, they will continue to be allies of the president and the head of government.

“Regardless of the fact that our work is being to go it alone, we are not going to give up in support of the legislative issue, neither for the president, nor for the head of government here in the City… although we do not necessarily vote for everything they tell us, although As the opposition, we have to give them all the necessary tools to do well, nobody wants the president to do badly because the country is doing badly, and nobody wants the head of government to do badly because the city is doing badly. ”, indicates.

He mentions that people are already fed up with the lawsuits between the parties and politicians, and stresses that citizens must be aware of who they leave the City, council and mayor’s office to and not leave because of the cascading vote.
