Putin’s Right Hand Resigns and Leaves Russia

President’s right hand Russia, Vladimir PutinAnatoly Chubais, resigned from his position as representative of international lobbies.

The decision was taken ahead of a month of Russian aggression in Ukraine.

Citing Reuters, Chubais immediately left Russia as soon as he declared his resignation.

A Reuters source who asked not to be identified said Chubais would not return to Russia.

The source did not say why Chubais left the country. Reuters tried to call him, but Putin’s former right-hand man did not answer.

Chubais is the highest -ranking official and close person in Putin’s circle.

Chubais was chief of staff to Russian President Boris Yeltsin before Putin came to power.

He was appointed to take charge of the sustainable development mission in 2020 after stepping down from his post as chairman of the technology company RUSNANO he has worked with since 2008.

Putin previously labeled his citizens who support the West as traitors to the state in a television broadcast on Wednesday (16/3).

“The West will try to rely on the fifth column, (rely on) national traitors, (rely on) people who earn money here, with us, but live there. And what I mean by ‘live there’ is not the geographical meaning, but according to their thoughts, their slave consciousness,” said Putin on Wednesday (16/3), quoted from CNN.

“(These people) can’t live with oysters and gender freedom.”

Meanwhile, the expression ‘fifth column’ is commonly used to refer to enemy sympathizers and appeared during the Spanish Civil War.
