President of Russia Vladimir Putin started a war against Ukraine as part of the implementation of plans for a big war for the restoration of the USSR.
This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview TSN.ua publicist and political scientist Mikhail Sheitelman.
“I think that in any case, he was going to start not only this war, but also the war for the restoration of the Soviet Union. They have a plan for the restoration of the USSR, it has been in effect for a long time. I do not know when it was written – after the Crimea or before. Approximately such a framework for the existence of this plan,” Sheitelman said.
The political scientist explained how the Kremlin was going to implement its plans:
“Somewhere they were going to take it by military force, as they seized parts of Georgia, for example. Somewhere they were going to force the country to join this community in hybrid ways, such as with Armenia, allowing it to specifically lose the war to Azerbaijan. The war in which Russia first got involved in the 80s, and then let them lose. It was clear with Ukraine that they would have to fight, they were going to do it. This is a strategic issue.”
Recall, Russian political scientist Andrey Piontkovsky said that Russian elites do not care about the results of the war against Ukraineand they are preparing for a civil war in Russia for the redistribution of property with the help of private armies.
According to a poll by the Atlantic Council think tank, 46% of foreign policy experts expressed the opinion that by 2033 Russia may become a failed state or just fall apart.
