Putin gives green light to foreign fighters to fight Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Russian Security Council on Friday morning.

At the meeting, the Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu is said to have proposed handing over American-made anti-tank systems, which have ended up in the hands of Russia, to soldiers from the rebel regions of Luhansk and Donetsk.

We are talking about weapons such as Javelin and Stinger, reports the news agency Reuters.

Putin is said to have said he supported such an idea, and that those who wanted to volunteer to fight with Russian-backed forces should be allowed to do so.

The Minister of Defense says that there are reportedly more than 16,000 volunteers in the Middle East who are ready to come and fight with Russian-supporting forces.

Putin will and, according to the Russian news agency Tassinstructed Shoigu to prepare a report on the strengthening of Russia’s western borders in connection with NATO operations.

Shoigu is also said to have said that the General Staff of the Russian Defense Forces is working to develop a plan to strengthen the western borders of Russia.

Minister of Defense: Has killed several civilians

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on Friday that Russia’s invasion is said to have killed more Ukrainian civilians than soldiers, Reuters reports.

In recent days, nearly one hundred thousand people have been evacuated from Ukrainian cities. In total, more than 2.5 million people have fled Ukraine, the UN reports.

The port cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha will now be surrounded by Russian forces, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. On Friday morning, the Ukrainian military was fighting against Russian forces in a village outside Kyiv.

– We’ll kill all the bastards for the bombing of Mariupol. We must multiply them by zero, says a Ukrainian soldier to Reuters.
