Pushed for a visit to Taiwan will pay a high price, says Beijing

“We make him pay a high price for his short-sighted behavior and political opportunism,” said Wang, who is visiting Germany. Wang added that questioning the principle of one China means “antagonizing 1.4 billion Chinese” and that the Chinese government and people will not tolerate the “open provocation” of the president of the Czech Senate and the anti-Chinese forces behind him.

China demands that all countries with which it has diplomatic relations adhere to the principles of one China. This means, among other things, that they should not establish interstate relations with Taiwan, which Beijing considers to be its breakaway province.

The President of the Czech Senate, Miloš Vystrčil, is sorry for the statement of the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, who, according to him, is interfering in the internal affairs of the Czech Republic. Nevertheless, he believes that the Czechia will have good relations with all countries. Vystrčil claims that the road is not intended to be limited to anyone.

Pushed arrived in Taiwan with a delegation of about 90 on Sunday. One of its main stated goals is to strengthen business relations. He should negotiate with leading Taiwanese politicians during the visit. He will be met by Taiwanese President Chai Jing-wen, Prime Minister Su Zhenchang and his parliamentary counterpart You Si-kchun. Vystrčil will also act with several ministers.

The journey of the head of the Senate, the second highest constitutional official of the Czech Republic, attracts a lot of attention. China strongly disagrees with it. However, Vystrčil and other members of the political part of the delegation have repeatedly emphasized that the Czech Republic cannot submit to Chinese objections.

President Miloš Zeman and Prime Minister Andrej Babiš also disagreed with the flight. On the contrary, Vystrčil received support from the United States, for example, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave him.
