REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PURWAKARTA — There was a positive case of polio in Purwakarta Regency, West Java, a response was made to the implementation of the Polio National Immunization Sub-Week (Sub-PIN). The Polio Sub-PIN in Purwakarta is scheduled to start in early April 2023.
Regional Secretary (Sekda) Purwakarta Norman Nugraha said, today a Polio Sub-PIN Cross-Sector Coordination meeting was held in Purwakarta, which was attended by representatives of the WHO (World Health Organization).
“WHO’s arrival is expected to increase immunization achievements in Purwakarta, and the implementation of the Polio Sub-PIN in Purwakarta can be successful with a coverage of more than 95 percent,” said Norman in Purwakarta, Monday (27/3/2023).
In March, there was one case of type 2 polio in a child in the Maniis District, Purwakarta Regency. One case is considered as an extraordinary incident. Responding to this, in Purwakarta a Polio Sub-PIN will be held.
Sub PIN in Purwakarta is planned to be divided into two rounds, with a target of immunizing 78,670 children aged 0-59 months. The first round will start April 3, 2023. Then in May it will continue with the second round.
