Photo taken in mid-June: To increase the stability of the Ossingen railway bridge, steel reinforcements were welded on. The bridge was closed to train traffic from January 22nd to July 24th, and replacement buses were running.

When it comes to the Zürcher Weinland, its four representatives in the Cantonal Council usually stick together – across party lines. So also last Monday when the Individual initiative for the expansion of the two Weinland railway lines was provisionally supported by Parliament.
With 63 votes, however, the support was narrow – three more than necessary. And if the Weinländer Konrad Langhart (Stammheim, Die Mitte) and Paul Mayer (Marthalen, SVP) had not voted against their own parliamentary groups, the result would have been even tighter. SVP, GLP, Greens, Die Mitte and AL were against the initiative.
