Pub crawl and much more: check out Friday’s carnival program in Kruikenstad!

FINALLY! It is that time again! Carnival erupts in Kruikenstad and we are all looking forward to it. Are you going to carnival in Kruikenstad on Friday 17 February? And are you curious about what there is to do? We’ve listed it for you in this day program. That way you don’t have to miss anything. Read on quick.

Official program

The Carnival Foundation organizes various events during Carnival. Also Friday 17 February.

• 5:11 pm – 7:11 pm: Wèèrmdraaje at De Vos and De Craen. The Carnival Foundation officially kicks off carnival at the most carnivalesque pub of the past year. The first round is from the Carnival Foundation, so don’t miss this!
• 7:11 pm – 4:00 am: the Kroegendwèèl tour in the city center. During the pub crawl you hop from pub to pub and drink a tasty (alcoholic) snack everywhere. With your paper tie in your pocket you can get a stamp at eleven different Kruikenpubs. Do you have a full card? Then you can exchange the tie for an emblem for your outfit!

The motto of carnival in Kruikenstad this year is ‘Kwosse Begosse’. This means: I wish we started again. You can read all about this motto in this article.

More fun parties

But there is also a lot to do on the rest of the squares and in the catering streets. For example:

• From 09:00: the Dronkedaorissen Carnival breakfast on the Kruikenplein (Piusplein-Noord). John West and Lamme Frans, among others, will drop by. Cards are for sale here.
• Pub crawl along the tapkraon oope on the Piusplein. DJ San Sesferia, Fatguys, DJ Quintijn and Noise Kartel, among others, will perform.
• Ût big opwèrmfist with De Manager, CV MSVDBFK, De Manager, Fiësto, Tommy Santo, RTDV and DJ Wesley on the Korte Heuvel.
• The False Start in the Stadhuisstraat. From 15:00 you can enjoy a carnivalesque drag queen show. Various mop orchestras and DJs also perform.
• ‘t Groote Pleinfestijn on the Paleisring with Alaafterparty, CV Kruik’m, CV d’n Langsaufers, DJ Ron and DJ Daan Geeven.
• Every day is a party on the Heuvel and various artists come along. Think of Johnny Purple, Alaafterparty, Ruthless, DJ Harm, the Jan van Brusselbank and many others.
• Poké’s Beestenboel & Vunzige Deuntjes at Poppodium 013.
• Ain’t no rave like a carnival rave with Joey Beltram, DJ Misjah and many others at Club Smederij.
• Senior fist at Schouwburg Concert Hall Tilburg
• LiveWall organizes for the eleventh time carnawall, Bennie Known, CV Difficult Radius of the Bizarre Beautiful Map and more at LiveWall.
• Soepa Schrobfist at Café Tribunal.

Jar Coins

The means of payment during carnival in Kruikenstad is of course the Kruikenmunt in the city centre. Handy: you get coins in advance at one of the counters in the city and can use them to pay at all Kruikenpubs. The Jar coin costs €3.30 this year. New this year: a sustainable alternative to disposable cups. This makes carnival a lot more sustainable. It goes like this. You get your first drink and then pay €1 or 1/4th jug coin deposit for your cup. If you get a new drink, you exchange the cup. To make it easier to give a round, you can also buy beer pitchers. For this you pay a €3.30 deposit or 1 jug coin. When you go home, you can hand in the cup and/or pitcher at the bar and get your deposit back.

I’m fighting my calves

Very important during carnival: don’t peak too quickly. What is very important for this: a good bojem. In other words, a good meal before you start drinking the necessary beers and Schrobbelèrtjes. Where to find the best bojem in Tilburg? We’ll list it for you.

Inextricably linked to carnival: the carnival growers. These are fun Tilburg sayings that are printed every year on brightly colored plates. Bicycle sheds

There will be no night buses during carnival this year. Are you going to carnival and do you want to drink a beer? Then of course leave the car behind and come by bike (or taxi). During carnival there are extra bicycle parking facilities, namely at the Concert Hall (unattended and open 24 hours a day) and at the Spoorlaan near the ABN Amro (managed and open between 12:00 and 04:30). There is room for 500 bicycles in both additional parking facilities. The other bicycle parking facilities in the city are of course also open.
