The chairman of the DPR RI and the chairman of the PDI-P Mrs. Empress open voice about his meeting with Anies Baswedan during the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Puan said the meeting was a form of hospitality that had to be maintained.
“Hospitality must always be maintained, anytime, anywhere. Especially in the Holy Land,” Puan said in a written statement, Friday (30/6/2023).
The two met accidentally in guest house in Mina, Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the stoning procession. During the meeting, Puan and Anies had a light conversation while resting.
The story of Puan’s meeting with Anies was previously revealed by PDIP DPP Chairman Said Abdullah. Said also accompanied Puan and her family when she met Anies and his wife in Makkah. According to him, the meeting of the two figures was not scheduled.
“We were taking a short break from Mina to throw the second jumrah. Without planning, we met Mas Anies Baswedan. It was when the two of them were resting after a long activity that they met,” said Said.
He added that the meeting between Puan and Anies went smoothly. Puan and Anies even took pictures together accompanied by their respective spouses.
Said said Puan and Anies prayed for each other so that they could carry out the rest of the Hajj pilgrimage smoothly.
“Conversing casually, talking lightheartedly, praying for one another, moreover being in Baitullah as an efficacious place to pray,” explained the Chairman of the Banggar DPR RI.
