“L’Équipe” report
Last July, Paris Saint-Germain secured the services of internationally sought-after centre-forward Hugo Ekitiké. The 20-year-old Frenchman came on loan from league rivals Stade Reims with a purchase option of up to 40 million euros – after almost a year the project seems to have failed. As a “L’Équipe” report suggests, PSG is aiming to dissolve the connection in the summer.
Little playing time and disappointing performances would clearly speak for an end to the cooperation between Ekitiké and the capital club. The people in charge of the Parisians are said not to have officially informed the youngster that they would no longer plan with him. Club advisor Luís Campos had engineered the Ekitiké deal in 2022 – combined with the hope that the youth international “made in France” would take his skills to the next level in Paris after a top season involving 16 goals in 27 games. And in the medium term as a fixed point in the center of the storm could play in the foreground.

Ekitiké’s low importance in the star ensemble is also related to the fact that coach Christophe Galtier usually relies on his trio of Lionel Messi (35), Neymar (31) and Kylian Mbappé (24). But the evil is deeper, they say. For example, Rechtsfuss Ekitiké has difficulty processing his frustration at his situation and digesting the criticism that has been leveled at him. The PSG bosses recognized that the attacker had failed and would therefore look for a way out for him. Ekitiké himself assumed that the first of many planned seasons at PSG would be primarily a learning one for him. The lack of communication on the part of the Parisians also causes uneasiness on the Ekitiké side.

In the 2022/23 season, Ekitiké had four goals and three assists in 27 games in all competitions. He has 1,096 minutes of playing time and eleven nominations for the starting eleven. He stayed 14 times without being substituted on and was only on the bench. According to reports, however, Ekitiké does not have to worry about his sporting future. Before signing at PSG, the young professional was traded at Newcastle United, Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan and Juventus Turin. It was recently speculated that SGE could imagine selling top scorer Randal Kolo Muani (24) in exchange for Ekitiké plus a reasonable fee. The French vice world champion allegedly prefers a move to Bayern Munich.

Turbulent transfer summer at PSG? Focus on Skriniar, Osimhen and Diaby
According to L’Équipe, Ekitiké’s option to buy will come into play if Paris finish in the top two in Ligue 1, which is unlikely given their eight-point lead over third. How meanwhile „RMC Sport“ reports, club advisor Campos is already planning the transfer summer, which could prove to be very turbulent. Above all, players who identify with the club and have the mentality to withstand the pressure at PSG would be sought. SSC Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen (24) has priority for attacking – but no progress can be expected in the matter in the near future. Another option is Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby (23), who left PSG in 2019 for 15 million euros and is now likely to be much more expensive.
The top club is also looking for reinforcements on the defensive. In addition to the free transfer Inter professional Milan Skriniar (28), players with strong characters and talents are in focus. The 16-year-old Croatian Luka Vuskovic, brother of the doping-banned HSV professional Mario Vuskovic and active at Hajduk Split, is also on the radar. Monaco’s Axel Disasi (25) was supposed to come a year ago, but is now being courted by English big guns, which makes it difficult to advance again. Besides Ekitiké, there are other players who are said to have problems identifying with the club. With the possible exception of Xavi Simons (19, PSV Eindhoven) and Junior Dina Ebimbe (22, Eintracht Frankfurt), all players currently on loan apparently have no future in Paris. / All the rumors about PSG additions
