A family affair that may end up in a court, under the eyes of the world’s cameras. This Tuesday, the São Paulo public prosecutor’s office confirmed that it had received a complaint for homophobia against Neymar. The PSG attacker allegedly called his own mother’s companion a “little fag”.
This complaint by an LGBT activist must now be studied by a prosecutor, responsible for deciding whether or not to prosecute the Brazilian star.
Activist Agripino Magalhaes, who is not directly involved in the case, announced on Instagram on Monday that he plans to file a complaint for “the crime of homophobia and hate speech.”
A private conversation revealed in the press
The homophobic insults were heard in an audio recording of the player’s private conversation with several leaked friends in the press.
Neymar treats Tiago Ramos, 22, boyfriend of his mother Nadine Gonçalves, 52, of “fagot” and “motherfucker”. One of his friends said that he should “put a broom in the ass”.
Nadine Gonçalves made public her relationship with the young man in April and the scandal press had revealed shortly after that the latter was bisexual.
