PSG about to complete the Mauro Icardi case

Mauro Icardi’s adventure is about to continue at PSG. Loaned this season by Inter with a purchase option of € 70 million, the Argentinian striker quickly convinced the leaders to definitively transfer him. In negotiations for several weeks now, the different parties have reached an agreement since the Sunday interview according to the latest information from ESPN. Now, the case is almost complete, because common ground has been found between the two clubs, and PSG has agreed with the player.

The continuation after this publicity

Leonardo and his advisers did well to return to Inter to try to lower the bill. According to the media, the transfer compensation is between 55 and 60 M € depending on the bonuses achieved. Mauro Icardi (27) must sign a 4-year contract, accompanied by one of the club’s biggest salaries, i.e. € 10 million per season. That’s about what Edinson Cavani touches today, his direct competitor at the forefront of the Parisian attack. There are still some details to settle, which could be done this week at the next scheduled meeting.

Icardi to receive Cavani’s salary

The 20 goals scored and the 4 assists distributed in just 31 games in all competitions by the former from Sampdoria made him a regular complement to a Parisian attack, carried by the stars Neymar, Mbappé and Di Maria. Despite some tensions that appeared during the winter with his coach Thomas Tuchel and a slightly shorter playing time, Icardi was able to take advantage of the repeated injuries of the idol of supporters and top scorer in the history of the club: Edinson Cavani.

With the transfer of the Argentine, the future of the Uruguayan is more than ever in question. ESPN specifies that the latter still does not know what he will do next season. He could very well go the opposite way, because the Nerazzurri appreciate his profile very much despite his 33 years. However, his priority remains for the moment the PSG that he does not want to leave, and especially not under current conditions. It will undoubtedly be the next hot issue for Leonardo and his team.
