Proximus will increase the rates from July, for the second time this year. The telecom operator says it cannot do otherwise due to the rising inflation. Proximus already raised the rates once in January. The operator had already announced the higher rates last week when it published its quarterly figures.
In concrete terms, some of the popular Flex packs will become 3 euros more expensive per month. That is an average increase of 4 percent, depending on the composition. It concerns the packs with a TV component. The increase concerns the rental of the decoder and is a reflection of the higher prices for materials and hardware.
Fixed internet will also become more expensive in certain cases from 1 July. The price for the entry-level Internet Essential product will not change, but Internet Maxi and Internet Maxi Fiber will become one euro more expensive per month. This corresponds to a price increase of about 2 percent.
Part of the mobile offer is also becoming more expensive, but the available data volume is increasing. There is no price change if the Mobilus subscription is part of a pack. The price for Mobilus S does not change, but Mobilus M and Maxi are respectively 3 and 5 euros more expensive per month.
Finally, those who only have a fixed line also have to pay more. The subscription price will be one euro more expensive per month. And those who choose to call for free during the weekend and during the week in the evening will see the price per daytime call rise from 88 euro cents to 1 euro.
Proximus says it understands that this is not a pleasant message for customers, but points to the increased inflation, especially in wages, energy and the price of technological equipment, such as decoders and modems.
