– SWC2022 World Final was held at Africa Coliseum in Sangam-dong, Seoul
As an offline competition held three years after the COVID-19 pandemic, fans from all over the world gathered in one place.
On the 12th, Com2uS held the official e-sports competition of its representative game, Summoners War, the world final of “2022 Summoners War World Championship (SWC2022)” at the Africa Colosseum e-Sports Stadium in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
Since Com2uS held it as an offline competition for the first time in a while, they also prepared an event to provide various memories for Summoners War fans. The restaurant consists of the 1st and 2nd floors. On the first floor, there were a variety of things to enjoy such as roulette, quiz and lottery events, a pop-up shop where Summoners War related items could be purchased, and a coffee shop where patrons could relax. On the second floor, you can see a photo zone where you can take pictures together, digital tattoos to help you enjoy the event atmosphere, and a community-certified event zone.
Many patrons were waiting before the 10:30 entrance time. Thanks to the offline event, users who met for the first time, couples who met while enjoying Summoners War, and families with children visited the event. In particular, since it was a worldwide hit, many foreign fans were able to see it.
When the venue opened, people flocked to the pop-up shop. Among the 50 kinds of products, the most popular was the “SWC Arena Mouse Pad”. Beautiful illustrations have captured the hearts of users. The product sold out shortly after the pop-up shop opened. Personally, it was my favorite mousepad. Other than the mouse pad, I liked the “Angelmon Wireless Smartphone Charger” the most.
It was impressive to see everyone enjoying Summoners War on their smartphones when the main event wasn’t happening. Most of the users in the cafeteria sat with their acquaintances and talked while revealing information about Summoners War. It has also been seen that users who met for the first time became friends and talked to each other. It is a positive function of the game to become of one mind and exchange with people from all over the world on the same material. This is a point where you can see how much Corona 19 has negatively affected gaming culture.
During coverage of the event, it was so popular that I was like, “Summoners War, which has been out of action for a long time, is still awesome.” So Jin-hyeok “DUCHAN”, the Korean representative, also put a name tag on the World Finals, and since it is an offline tournament held in Korea, I’m rooting for him to lift the trophy.
